Jennifer Lopez will be joining a new panel of judges for the upcoming tenth season of American Idol for $12 million.

On the heels of Kara DioGuardi’s departure announcement, sources have confirmed that Lopez will add some star wattage to the show according to People.  Lopez’s initial deal with the network fell apart since the singer’s demands had gotten “out of hand.”

A source told the magazine that Lopez is “very excited.”

"She was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep the movie career going. But Fox said, ‘No,’" an insider told the website. "In the old days, these were called a 'vanity deal' for good reason. They simply don't exist today. Will Smith doesn’t have put pictures."

Eventually, she agreed a $12 million deal with no extra perks.

When reached by RadarOnline.com, Fox would not comment and reps for Lopez did not return calls for comment.
