According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, a close friend gave the throwaway phone to Katie so her Mission: Impossible husband wouldn’t be made aware of her attorney conversations regarding the divorce.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Tom was shocked by Katie’s June 29 divorce announcement — which is exactly what Katie wanted.
The LA Times reports that Katie didn’t want Tom or his staff to know the divorce was coming, and by the time she filed, she had already hired three law firms in three different states.
On Monday the couple reached a divorce settlement and Katie was awarded primary custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri Cruise, which RadarOnline.com was first to exclusively report would be the outcome.
Tom was awarded generous visitation rights.
“I think that Tom Cruise chose his religion over his daughter Suri,” Marty said.
“And I also think that (Church leader) David Miscavige pressured Cruise to settle the divorce quickly.”
