"As the result of a multi-day settlement conference, the Court announces that Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have achieved a settlement in their ongoing dispute.

"The terms and conditions of the settlement will be set for hearing on Wed., Aug. 31, 2011...Matters concerning the civil financial agreement will be heard in open court before Judge Peter D. Lichtman. Custody issues will be heard in a closed session," the statement says.

Mel Gibson pled no contest to a single battery count against Grigorieva stemming from an altercation between the two, in which the Russian beauty claimed Gibson had hit her in the face.

Interestingly, the settlement was reached five years to the day that Mel and his wife Robyn Moore named as their day of separation in their 2006 divorce filing.
