Vieira's Vengeance! Meredith’s Secret Could Destroy Matt Lauer In $100M Divorce

Former Today co-host Meredith Vieira has been sucked into the $100 MILLION divorce battle between predatory former NBC colleague Matt Lauer and his long-suffering wife, Annette Roque — as new evidence points to Meredith’s involvement in the 60-year-old sleazebag’s firing from the Peacock Network!
In a world exclusive investigation, RadarOnline.com has learned the courageous woman who knocked Lauer from his throne was, in fact, Meredith’s former assistant!
Meredith, herself a victim of Lauer’s disgusting harassment, once bravely taunted the bald anchor on The Meredith Vieira Show over his depravities, calling him out in 2016 for the “bag of sex toys” he had stashed in his Today office.
Now, she could testify if humiliated Annette drags Lauer to court to squeeze him dry of his fortune and seek custody of their kids — Jack, 16, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11.
Lauer first targeted Meredith’s assistant at the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014, and continued his twisted harassment after they returned to New York, according to sources.
Meredith’s ex-staffer also had hard and fast proof of Lauer’s sleaziness — explicit images he’d texted her. She turned the sick shots over to NBC bosses, who promptly terminated the $25-million-a-year newsman over the charges!
Former model Annette first slapped Lauer with divorce papers in 2006 when she was pregnant with their third child, accusing Matt of “controlling and cruel behavior” so extreme that it “endangered her physical and mental well-being,” according to court papers obtained by RadarOnline.com.
But after a change of heart, she dropped the divorce — when Lauer reportedly filed a post-nuptial agreement that promised her millions more should they break up for good.
This time, however, Lauer won’t get off easy when Annette’s legal team calls upon Meredith — and countless other alleged victims — as Lauer’s embattled wife seeks to hold the sex perv to account over his rumored dirty deeds!
Right before Dutch beauty Annette wed Lauer in 1998, he had an affair with Jessica Thorman, a married Florida woman.
Jessica’s hubby, Zoltan Molnar, accused Lauer of wrecking their marriage, telling RadarOnline.com: “He’s not the goody-goody nice guy he looks like on TV!”
“Annette’s no fool. She knows what’s happened and knows what she deserves from the marriage,” dished a source.
“Meredith will likely be dragged into the divorce to answer a few questions about what she knew and how she may have been involved in Matt’s termination at NBC.”
“Matt’s firing was disruptive for everyone and put a lot of people at NBC in truly impossible situations.
“The whole atmosphere turned toxic and the woman, who is an extremely talented and ambitious individual, risked everything by coming forward.
“It’s nowhere near a perfect situation now, because who knows what people might gossip about. But the reality is that Matt deserved to be punished, and his victims did not.”
While not only speaking out to protect her assistant and the other women who suffered from Lauer’s creepy come-ons, Meredith has her own story to tell.
During a commercial break on Today in October 2006, as the cameras kept rolling, the vulgar Lauer leered at Meredith: “Keep bending over like that. It’s a nice view.”
“It will be embarrassing for Matt and Meredith to have this all come out in his divorce, but Annette may stop at nothing to get what she wants,” said the insider.
The toxic and costly split could finally spell the end of Lauer’s lavish lifestyle, according to celebrity attorney Julie Hyman.
“To involve all of these women, including named women who worked with him, it’s bad for him, it’s just bad. I say he’s in the doghouse. He’d better settle out of court,” said Hyman, who is not representing Lauer.
That’s exactly what Annette is counting on, as she builds a case against the canned journalist amid his ever-growing sexual harassment scandal, another source added.
“Annette wants a big settlement and custody of their three kids, and she intends to use these cases as leverage,” the insider noted.
Matt, once one of the highest-paid hosts on TV, will pay dearly if the divorce goes through.
“It’s going to cost him big!” concluded Hyman.
