Matt Roloff's girlfriend Caryn Chandler's troubled son says he's now sober after going through a drug nightmare! Connor Chandler revealed how he kicked his horrifying addiction to Xanax—and apologized to his mother, who is Little People, Big World star Matt's galpal—for putting her through the hell of his numerous jail stints, rehab, and hospital stays.
Connor took to Facebook https://www.facebook.com/connor.chandler3 to post a message which read:
"My name is Connor. And this is my story about how addiction almost took my life. I was 13 years old when i was first introduced to a drug called Xanax. Biggest mistake of my life was choosing to try it. Cause after that, i tried it again. Then again. And again. And again. I realized at the age of 15 i had a drug problem which i was at that point taking about 4 to 5 xanax pills a day. It made forget, not feel, not care, not friendly, not me. Almost killed me, almost killed my relationship with my family, almost destroyed my entire life."
Connor continued in his shocking Facebook missive, "I went through 8 Impatient Rehabs, 8 outpatient treatment centers, 2 group homes, 17 times in jail, 3 warrants, 12 hospital visits for overdose, and 4 friends death from overdose before i finally got myself clean."
He then revealed that, "Today. I am sober. I am happy. I am moving foward. About 2 months ago i decided to finally set down the drugs. Set down the fun, the parties, the friends, and change my life forever in a positive way. Not for anybody but myself. I have been working full time for over 2 months now as this is the first job i have ever been able to keep for more then 5 days. I am now getting a raise to 15$/hr on monday and and continueing to move foward. I move into my own apartment november 1st. I get my own car in 30 days. I got my life back. I got Connor back."
The young man added a heartfelt apology to his mom, Caryn, writing on Facebook, "I want to apoligize to anyone and everyone i have hurt in my life. Mom, im so sorry. I took you through hell and back with my past addiciton. But just know, its over, and that thats never going to change, i will continue to do good and stay sober for the rest of my life.
"You are my rider mom, my soldier, my best friend, you saved my life 2 months ago letting me move back home so i didnt have to be homeless. I thank you for that."
Conner also paid tribute to another woman in his life, writing, "I also would like to thank Leah Christopher who is thr most beautiful girl i have ever laid eyes on. You saved my life as well. You got me away from my old so called 'friends' that just dragged me down and kept handing me pills. You changed my views on life and drugs. You made m remember the true me. Thank you. I love you."
Caryn's son ended by noting, "I am writing this message to anyone out there that is struggling with any type of addiction. You can do it. Go out there and get some help. Cut your 'friends' off, and watch your life change drastically. I thank anyone who supports me on staying clean. If you dont, delete me. By the way if you are family of mine please reach out to me, i have never had good communication with my dads side of the family and i would like to feel better knowing i have my family by my side. Thanks for reading a breif story about whats been going on in my life, i needed to tell it because i have never been this proud of myself in my entire life and need to prove to people who i really am. I love you all."
Caryn has taken center stage on Little People, Big World as Matt, 56, moved on with her after his messy divorce from wife and co-star, Amy, 53. Matt and Caryn have been inseparable, whether they are in Oregon or at their new Arizona home, which, RadarOnline.com reported, he bought from her folks.
The LPBW patriarch has enjoyed spending time with Caryn in Arizona this summer and as RadarOnline.com first reported, she attended Matt's father's 80th birthday in California with him recently.
Matt's dad Ron Roloff was pictured putting his hand on Caryn's shoulder in a sign she's getting close to his family. Matt's children attended the July bash as well.
