Matt Lauer has found a friend who can finally understand him: Bill O'Reilly!
RadarOnline.com can exclusively report that the two disgraced TV hosts have built a "tight friendship" following their very public sexual harassment scandals and network firings.
“They've built a tight friendship, and have bonded with one another since they’ve been fired," a source close to the ousted Fox News anchor told RadarOnline.com. "They talk daily."
The two social outcasts even met up for drinks last month at South Edison in Montauk, New York, the source claimed.
"They both think they got raw deals," the source said, adding that both men are "still mad as hell" that their images have been
tarnished.
According to RadarOnline.com's insider, Lauer, 60, has the "bigger ego" of the two, and that he's still "begging his old bosses" to return.
The source claimed O'Reilly, 68, thinks Lauer is crazy if he thinks NBC will take him back.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, both men were fired for allegedly sexually harassing women at work. (O'Reilly denied any misconduct, while Lauer claimed some allegations were "untrue or mischaracterized.")
O'Reilly was was canned by Fox in April 2017, and Lauer was fired from NBC's Today in November of that same year.
In a strange twist, Lauer interviewed O'Reilly on Today about sexual harassment allegations just two months before he himself was fired.
“You were accused of sexual harassment,” Lauer stated. “You said at the time that you did absolutely nothing wrong, do you stand by that?”
“I do,” O’Reilly said defiantly. "My conscious is clear...Nobody’s a perfect person, but I can go to sleep very well knowing that I never mistreated anyone on my watch in 42 years."
