No Longer Liza With A Z? Minnelli Changes Her Name To Janis!
Feb. 25 2019, Updated 11:46 a.m. ET
Liza Minnelli is rocking a new name, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
The Cabaret star legend, 72, has dumped her famous "Liza with a 'Z,'" moniker to go by "Janis," according to a source, which is the first name of the late wild rock singer Janis Joplin.
Incredibly, "Liza's friends and family have called her Janis for years," the insider has revealed to RadarOnline.com.
"It's the undercover name she uses when she wants to go unnoticed checking into hotels or making reservations."
The source added, "If she's out with friends in disguise, everyone calls her Janis.
"Since moving from New York to Los Angeles a few years back, she's been living as Janis full time."
As RadarOnline.com reported late last year, Judy Garland's daughter Minnelli shocked onlookers when she attended a stage production of the musical Something Rotten! in L. A., appearing backstage in a wheelchair.
Nick Rashad Burroughs, one of the play’s stars, posted a photo of himself with the fragile star in her wheelchair as both smiled for the camera.
It wasn't the first time the Oscar-winning star has been seen in a wheelchair in recent years.
A source told The National ENQUIRER earlier this year, "She might never sing again and she certainly doesn't have the strength to do a big comeback tour…."
“Liza wants to really go out in style,” the pal dished. “She’s planning her own funeral like it’s the opening of a big Broadway musical!”
Or maybe, a rock concert?
