Kim Kardashian’s Unhealthy Lifestyle Puts Her At Risk For Gestational Diabetes On ‘KUWTK’
Kim Kardashian overindulging in sweets had sour consequences on this week’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, as the pregnant reality star’s unhealthy eating habits put her at risk for gestational diabetes.
After months of eating healthy and working out, Kim treated herself to a cheat day in New Orleans. But Kris Jenner wasn’t pleased by her daughter’s baguette-filled trip, as she warned her to slow down on the sweets.
“Do you remember what happened the last time you got all stressed out and you were eating sugary stuff?” Kris, 60, asked her daughter, who suffered from preeclampsia during her first pregnancy.
“I’m way skinnier than last time,” Kim, 35, said. “I’m way healthier than last time.”
But Kris didn’t buy her excuse, as she called her a “closet eater.” When Kim explained that she is going to Paris to get fitted for maternity clothes, Kris continued to express her concern over Kim’s lifestyle.
“This is going to put you over the edge,” the momager warned. “You’re trying to do everything that would make the normal non-pregnant person exhausted.”
She added in her confessional, “Kim has been travelling a lot and I don’t think she understands that she’s got to take care of herself.”
But Kim ignored her mother’s advice, as she flew to Paris and extended her cheat day by eating churros and cheesecake.
After the dessert-fueled binge, Kim’s feet and hands became swollen. Her doctor broke the news that her elevated blood pressure could be a sign of gestational diabetes.
She told her mother, “They saw a little bit more fluid than normal in my placenta which either could mean that I’m having a carbon tolerance or I have diabetes."
A concerned Kris responded, “I had gestational diabetes with Kylie. It’s very serious. Your life is at stake.”

Luckily for Kim, she passed the diabetes test.
She said in her confessional, “I think this is just a wakeup call that things just might not be going the way I thought they were and I have to try to be healthy.”
After Kendall and Kylie snubbed Caitlyn Jenner when they chose to get dinner with their mother over their father after the ESPY Awards, she was ignored once again when Kris refused to invite her to their daughters’ high school graduation party.
“I don’t think I’m ready,” Kris told Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian of why she didn’t invite Caitlyn, 66, to the bash. “I don’t think I could handle that yet. I don’t want to hurt Kendall and Kylie, but I need time as well to adjust to this whole thing. I haven’t even met her yet.”
When asked by Khloe if Kris wants to meet Caitlyn, she responded, “I’m scared to death.”
While Caitlyn wasn’t on the guest list, the star-studded bash included Gigi Hadid, Ryan Seacrest and more famous faces.
Kylie, 18, said of the surprise blowout, “It is such an awesome feeling seeing everybody and it means so much that my mom put this together.”
Also on the episode, Khloe reached out to clairvoyant Tyler Henry after she felt a spirit in her home. When he shared that he smelled a man’s tie, the 31-year-old assumed it was her father Rob Kardashian.
But when psychic medium Lisa Williams visited the home, she confirmed it was Khloe’s grandfather who was trying to contact her. That didn’t stop Khloe from trying to connect with her father, as the medium sent her a message from her late dad.
“He’s sorry that he never got to say goodbye,” she told Khloe of her father, who passed away from cancer in 2003. “He loves you with all his heart. He’s so proud of you.”
