‘American Chopper’ Producer Inks Deal For New Mafia TV Show

American Chopper producer Franco Porporino Jr. has inked a development deal for a scripted series about the mafia.

Porporino’s company, Kissfly Productions, is creating the show and he told RadarOnline.com exclusively where the idea came from.

“There hasn’t been a great mob series on since The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire. It’s going to be about the golden days of the Mafia, from prohibition to the wild heydays of the mob in the 70s.”

RadarOnline.com learned that Emmy Award winner and four-time Golden Globe Nominee Armand Assante was approached to be involved in the production.

Porporino told RadarOnline.com: “He would be the baddest gangster alive! Assante is know for so many prolific roles, but one truly stands out and that is his role as playing mafia mob boss John Gotti which he won the Emmy for.

“I was always fascinated with mob films and I am truly excited to start this journey as my first scripted series. And if Armand is involved I’d be placing bets that he will nominated for another Emmy.”
