With the news that Harvey Weinstein has been arrested for sexual assault, amongst other charges, the #MeToo movement has its latest victory—and it's time to delve deeply into a #MeToo accused where are they now.

Bill Cosby’s recent conviction for drugging and raping a woman in Philadelphia will likely see the comedian ending his life behind bars. Weinstein and Cosby’s fates illustrate the commencing of real change that was promised when a couple of news stories outed the famed movie producer and studio head in 2017 and set off a tsunami of sexual misconduct accusations that would reach into the most shocking of places.

With Weinstein finally getting cuffs put on his hands, it is a good time to check in with other #MeToo accused to see where they are now, how this has affected their careers and if any have changed their ways. What is clear is that for some, their professional and personal lives are ruined. For others, not a thing has changed.

1. Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein is finally charged with his crimes in the #MeToo movement.
Source: INSTAR Images

Harvey Weinstein was one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood. The Oscar-winning co-founder of Miramax and The Weinstein Company personally oversaw many Academy Award-winning projects. Then a double-barreled set of journalistic exposés, in The New York Times and the New Yorker, showed the world his true colors. More than 80 women have come forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual assault, sexual harassment and even rape—including Rose McGowen and Asia Argento. The #MeToo movement was essentially born in the wake of this scandal, and since then, Weinstein has retreated into the shadows of society. His wife, Georgina Chapman, divorced him. He was fired from the company that bears his name (and it since has taken a nose dive financially). The disgraced mogul was reported to have gotten help for his demons. The state of New York started looking into these charges and has since charged Weinstein with several counts of sexual battery. He was then arrested and brought out of the station in handcuffs. This is just the beginning as a federal investigation that is happening and a grand jury just convened in New York City that is expected to hear the testimony of four women.

2. Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is the newest celebrity to be accused of sexual misconduct.
Source: INSTAR Images

Proof that the #MeToo movement of accusers coming forward is nowhere near its conclusion, beloved actor Morgan Freeman has been accused by eight different women claiming that he said sexually inappropriate things and also engaged in non-consensual touching and groping. In this environment, the accusations are being taken seriously. When it comes to the effect on his career, time will tell. This is a story that is not going to go away, and it has tapped another Hollywood figure that had allegedly been engaging in this type of behavior for 20-plus years. Freeman’s defenders immediately tossed out the idea that this was the onset of dementia. It is an argument that fell flat as the behavior stems back decades. Thus far, Freeman has denied all of the charges and apologized if anything he said or did was misconstrued. He is still set to appear in several future feature films, but we will see.

3. Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey was one of the celebrities who was the first to get caught in the #MeToo web.
Source: INSTAR Images

Kevin Spacey was one of the most in-demand actors of his generation. Then, actor Anthony Rapp came forward about Spacey forcing himself on him when he was just 14 in the ‘80s and the world became outraged. There have been 15 men since to come forward sharing a similar experience, and for members of the LGBTQ community, it was a blow. Spacey had long been rumored gay and it would have done the entire community good if he had come out and encouraged others to do the same. Instead, he used the scandal as his platform for announcing to the world he was gay. He even went so far as to say he didn’t recall the Rapp incident and to blame it on alcohol. Since then, Spacey has been fired from his Emmy-winning show House of Cards, and he was literally removed from his film All the Money In The World, and replaced by Christopher Plummer (who earned an Oscar nomination for the role). It is safe to say that Spacey will never work again.

4. Jeffrey Tambor

Jeffrey Tambor was fired from Transparent because of his sexual abuse of staffers.
Source: INSTAR Images

Jeffrey Tambor's career was on a high with his starring role in the beloved show, Transparent, and his reappearance in the comeback of Arrested Development. Then, women started coming forward as the #MeToo movement inspired many. They all shared a similar story: Tambor had made rude sexual comments to them. One even accused him of watching her sleep. And generally, a picture emerged of an actor abusing his position. His ex-assistant on Transparent, Van Barnes, has broken her silence about what happened on the set of that show, and since, Tambor has been fired. What’s interesting is that all those involved in Arrested Development have not done the same. The show is currently airing (starring Tambor as the Bluth family patriarch) on Netflix, although a recent press tour was cancelled due to the controversy swirling around Tambor. Tambor, for one, was more than willing to hit the road and act like nothing happened. In fact, one of his co-stars defended the actor, and since... Jason Bateman has apologized.

5. Louis C.K.

Louis C.K. has not been seen much since he admitted inappropriate behavior with several women.

"Come watch me masturbate" is a pick-up line said by no-one ever, unless your name is Louis C.K. That is exactly what happened on several occasions when the comedian had women in his apartment, dressing room or hotels, and proceeded to make them watch him pleasure himself. He has also been accused of sexual harassment and has since been fired from his deal with Netflix, had his movie that he wrote, directed and starred in—I Love You, Daddy—shelved and a stand-up special cancelled. Among the most vocal in getting others to speak out is writer-comedienne-actress Rebecca Corry. Her refusal to wilt under the spotlight is what encouraged four other women to come forward and end Louis C.K.’s career. He has since gone into the shadows, but rumors have him reaching out to producers seeking a return or to at least to inquire when a return is likely.

6. David Copperfield

David Copperfield was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a minor.
Source: INSTAR Images

One of the most talented and successful magicians of all time, David Copperfield, could not make charges of sexual misconduct disappear and the showman has been disgraced. A woman came forward and accused Copperfield of drugging her and sexually assaulting her when she was 17. He denied the charges, even saluting the movement in his statement addressing his charges. “The #MeToo movement is crucial and long overdue,” he stated. “But imagine what it’s like, believing in the movement, and having also been falsely accused publicly in the past.” It has had no bearing on his career. He has never shied away from the public eye and one can even buy tickets for his shows in Las Vegas currently.

7. R. Kelly

R. Kelly is currently being accused of controlling women's lives, sexually and other ways..
Source: MEGA

A longtime celebrity who has been under a cloud of sexual misconduct since a 2008 child pornography charge was tossed out, R. Kelly was accused by many of controlling their sexual lives in July of 2017. The singer was also said to have been controlling much of these women’s days, including their eating habits. Whereas his previous charge didn’t stick, this latest one seems to have legs as his publicist, lawyer and personal assistant have all quit and streaming services dropped him from their playlist. R. Kelly personally has not addressed the allegations and has yet to come forward to try to restart his career in any manner. Hulu has just announced it is making a documentary about all these allegations against the singer and bringing his past indiscretions into the fold as well.

8. Scott Baio

Scott Baio is accused of having sex with his underage co-star, Nicole Eggert.
Source: INSTAR Images

Everybody loved Chachi, but the actor who played him, Scott Baio, is in the middle of a major fight for his good name. January 27, 2017 was a fateful day for Baio—who came to fame as a star of Happy Days—when his Charles in Charge co-star as a star and adult when he violated her starting at the age of 14 and carrying on until she was 17. Baio took to Facebook to deny the accusations vehemently. He did admit that he had “consensual” sex with her once she turned 18. A D.A. has recently said that Baio won’t be charged in this case, an announcement Eggert did not want to hear. It is hard to say what hurt Baio’s career more, the fact that he is accused of forcing himself on a minor or his very public support of Donald Trump in a town that is decidedly anti-Trump.

9. Jeremy Piven

Jeremy Piven is fighting back against charges leveled against him in light of the #MeToo movement.
Source: INSTAR Images

If the claims are true, Jeremy Piven appears to have been a lot like his Entourage alter-ego Ari Gold off-screen in his ability to make people feel small. Piven has been accused by several women over the years of sexual harassment at the least, and groping and unwanted advances at the most. The actor denied the charges, even taking a lie detector test. He has defended himself, saying, “Careers are being destroyed based on mere allegations.” Whether it was due to this scandal or low ratings, who knows, but his show Wisdom Of The Crowd was cancelled. But, the headlines have not hurt his career permanently as he is slated to start filming two different movies in the near future.

10. Tom Brokaw

Tom Brokaw is the latest broadcast legend to be accused of sexual inappropriate behavior in light of #MeToo.
Source: INSTAR Images

Legendary newsman Tom Brokaw is not a name one would have expected to be on a list of men who allegedly acted inappropriately. But then again if there is anything the #MeToo movement has taught us it’s that no corner of those in the public eye is immune to folks who act inappropriately. In April 2018, Brokaw was named by Linda Vester in a complaint that stated the newsman made unwanted advances on several occasions throughout the ‘90s. Another woman, anonymously, came forward and said that he had touched her breasts and invited her back to his office. Brokaw has denied that anything illicit happened, although admitting to being alone with Vester on several occasions during that period. “I met with Linda Vester on two occasions, both at her request, 23 years ago because she wanted advice with respect to her career at NBC,” Brokaw said in a statement. “Despite Linda’s allegations, I made no romantic overtures towards her at that time or any other.” NBC has kept Brokaw on in his capacity as a “special correspondent,” for now. Insiders say that if more women come forward, his future might be different.

11. Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby is a free man no more, thanks to his conviction for rape.
Source: INSTAR Images

The first person to be looking at real jail time in the #MeToo movement is none other than formerly beloved comic Bill Cosby. The 80-year-old is looking at possibly dying in prison because he was found guilty of three counts of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. More than 60 women have accused Cosby for years of inappropriate behavior, but this indictment is the first time anything has stuck. The “first supermodel,” Janice Dickinson, is another one who has also leveled charges against The Cosby Show star. He maintains his innocence and vows to continue to fight the allegations. Needless to say, his career is over… not that he was doing much in that department at this point in his life anyway. But his freedom, that appears to be history too.

T.J. Miller not only quit Silicon Valley this year, he was accused of sexual assault.
Source: INSTAR Images

Notice something absent from the global promo machine that was Deadpool 2? Yup, it was star T.J. Miller. A woman came forward and said that Miller sexually assaulted her and even physically assaulted her by punching her in the face, which prompted others to say the same. He also has had numerous complaints about making lewd transphobic statements. His comedy special that was set to tape was cancelled. Miller was dropped from the Deadpool 2 press tour, and even though he left Silicon Valley pre-accusations, the door that was left open for his return is now firmly closed.

MORE ON:
Jeffrey Tambor

DAILY. BREAKING. CELEBRITY NEWS. ALL FREE.

Another one bites the dust. As the #MeToo movement was truly gaining steam, a fan to the fire was added when a titan of morning news television, Matt Lauer, was brought down by a legion of women claiming that he allegedly abused his position and sexually assaulted and harassed them. He gave one coworker a sex toy as a gift, then told her how he’d like to use it with her. Several other women claimed he summoned them to his office, where he locked the door via a switch under his desk and dropped his pants. When this came to light, he was immediately fired from The Today Show, he lost his $25 million a year contract and his wife divorced him. At first, he seemed to retreat into the darkness to avoid public scrutiny. But as of April 2018 he was shopping around ideas for new shows to make a comeback.

15. James Toback

James Toback had over 200 women come forward accusing the director of sexual assault.
Source: INSTAR Images

One of the most notorious accused of the #MeToo movement has to be director/producer/writer James Toback (Bugsy). No less than 200 women have claimed that he touched them inappropriately or advanced on them predatorily and several stated that he masturbated in front of them, including stars such as Selma Blair, Rachel McAdams and Howard Stern's Wife, Beth. He too has retreated from public life, and given that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has dropped the investigation, looks like there will be no price to pay—at least criminally. Professionally, Toback is finished.

16. Charlie Rose

Charlie Rose has lost his job and his future after allegations emerged he violated his position at CBS news.
Source: INSTAR Images

CBS morning news anchor Charlie Rose had an onscreen persona that always put his interviewees at ease. When the camera turned off, allegedly, another side of the newsman came out and it was one that sexually harassed and inappropriately touched women. One of the products of this movement to out sexual predators in the public eye is a look back. It appears that for more than 30 years, CBS management knew about Rose’s behavior and there were repeated warnings about what he was capable of doing. A total of 30 women have come forward, 14 of which were CBS employees, to detail stories of Rose’s behavior. Rose was fired and he still maintains his innocence and appears to show no signs of regret, even pitching a show idea to the CBS brass for him to do an interview series where his only guests would be the #MeToo accused. Needless to say, it fell on deaf ears.

17. Casey Affleck

Casey Affleck was noticeably absent from the 90th Academy Awards, due to his name being on the #MeToo movement's list.
Source: INSTAR Images

When Casey Affleck received his Oscar for Best Actor for his work on Manchester By The Sea, one thing was noticeably absent—a greeting from the category’s presenter, Brie Larson. That move was due to his long known about, but little discussed, sexual assault accusations from a movie set years prior where he paid off the accuser to keep quiet. In this new era where no bad deed from the past goes unpunished, Affleck is still paying the price. He even dropped out of the Oscars as a presenter in 2018. One thing that is clear, however, he has not stopped working. The brother of Ben Affleck has no less than six projects in the works.

On January 18, 2018, another iconic name was added to the list of #MeToo accused. Michael Douglas was accused by a woman of masturbating in front of her as well as sexually harassing her. The Oscar winner denied the accusations from three decades prior and got ahead of the scandal, agreeing to interviews to defend himself before the story broke huge. “I’d confess to anything I thought I was responsible for,” he reported. His wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, stands by his side and he even has a big summer movie coming up from Marvel Studios, Ant-Man And The Wasp. Now, whether he will be on that press tour remains to be seen.

19. George H.W. Bush

George HW Bush has had to defend himself against grabbing allegations as news broke due to the #MeToo movement.
Source: INSTAR Images

Even former leaders of the free world aren’t immune from the reach of the movement that has exposed a seedy underbelly to how women are treated. George Bush, the first president Bush, reportedly had groped several women over the years. Six different females have come forward and said that the former president grabbed them in ways that are inappropriate and shocking. The complaints usually involve Bush grabbing their buttocks. Some have come to his defense, saying “he’s old” and “of a different generation.” In the end if there is one thing the #MeToo movement has shown is that there is no statute of limitations on bad behavior, regardless of age, lot in life or position in society. Bush, in his nineties, recently buried his beloved wife Barbara and is not in the best of health.

20. James Franco

Due to sexual assault allegations, James Franco would make his final awards season appearance at the Golden Globes.

The accusation of sexual impropriety against James Franco, some argue, cost the actor a shot at a nomination for Best Actor for his turn in The Disaster Artist. After he won a Golden Globe for the film, five women came forward accusing the multifaceted performer of sexual harassment and abuse. One woman even stated he pressured her into performing oral sex, one of the offenses that now has Harvey Weinstein facing jail time. Franco not only lost an Academy Award nomination (and was digitally removed from Vanity Fair’s Hollywood cover story), but the respect of many of his peers. He was noticeably absent from even attending Hollywood’s biggest night. But, his future projects are all sorts of lined up and his long-term career damage appears to be minimal. He used to have acting students and run a filmmaking workshop. These are where many of the complaints arose from, so at least for now, Franco is probably out of the mentoring business.

The Full House and Fuller House showrunner and producer paid the ultimate professional price for his alleged series of sexually based inappropriate behavior. He was removed from the show he created. Jeff Franklin was accused of being “verbally abusive to staffers” and repeatedly talked about his sex life in writers' meetings to an audience that was less than comfortable to hear such details. He currently is out of a job and a Vanity Fair piece pointed out that none of his charges involve “directly sexually harassing or engaging in physical misconduct with any staffers.”

22. Dustin Hoffman

Dustin Hoffman has some sexual assault skeletons in his closet.
Source: INSTAR Images

Another beloved actor, Dustin Hoffman, was swallowed up by the movement for behavior he allegedly committed years prior. He probably thought at the time, “Everybody’s doing it.” That may have been true, but time has shown that what Hoffman did, sexually manipulating and verbally abusing a production intern on Death Of A Salesman, is inappropriate—regardless of the era. He was also accused by two other women of lewd behavior, including inviting them back to his hotel to expose himself. One woman was only 16 years old. Melissa Kester alleged that the actor sexually assaulted her when they were recording audio for the movie Ishtar. He has not refuted these accusations, but has stated that “I have the upmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation. I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am.” When it comes to the cost on his career? Well, there is nothing on the books for Hoffman to star in in the near future.

23. Aziz Ansari

Aziz Ansari's one-night-stand with a woman many years ago has resulted in an assault accusation.
Source: INSTAR Images

On January 13, 2018, a woman came forward and stopped what was a runaway train of success for the actor-comedian Aziz Ansari. She spoke anonymously, going by “Grace,” and detailed what she described as “the worst night of my life.” She alleged that he was “sexually coercive” in getting her back to his apartment. Ansari addressed the accusations head on stating that the woman had agreed to sex the night of, but the next day felt differently. "The next day, I got a text from her saying that although ‘it may have seemed OK,’ upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable. It was true that everything did seem OK to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned,” he said. “I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said. I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue.” Ansari has been a bit more private since the story broke but has not stopped working.

24. Bryan Singer

Bryan Singer has also been accused of sexual wrongdoing.
Source: INSTAR Images

The X-Men director was no stranger to whispers about his alleged sexual improprieties. He was removed from the press tour for X-Men: Days of Future Past when allegations arose about him and a male staffer. Those were eventually dropped by his accuser under immense pressure from Singer's lawyer. Where there is smoke, there is fire, and that certainly arrived for Singer when Cesar Sanchez-Guzman revealed that in 2003, when he was only 17, Singer lured him into a yacht’s bedroom and forced him to perform anal and oral sex. Singer has denied the claim and reportedly will fight it, as he has all previous accusations in the past. Due to the scandal, or perhaps creative differences, he was removed from the Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. He is still in demand, though, with four projects on the horizon.

26. Brett Ratner

Brett Ratner has been accused by many women of sexual assault.
Source: INSTAR Images

Embodying that old casting couch and “you’ll do this if you want to get famous” attitude—allegedly—is director Brett Ratner. Six women have come forward since the #MeToo movement started to accuse the Rush Hour helmer of sexual harassment and misconduct. Natasha Henstridge was a 19-year-old actress when she was at a party with Ratner and a slew of friends. She fell asleep watching TV and when she awoke, everyone was gone except for the helmer. He then forced her to perform oral sex on him. She was inspired by the movement and finally for the first time felt comfortable telling her story. Her bravery spawned numerous other women to come forward against Ratner (including actress Olivia Munn, who stated he masturbated in front of her). And he is, at least for now, paying the price professionally. Warner Bros. has cut ties with his production company, and at this time, there is not one film that has his name attached to it as director.
