Justin Ross Harris was found guilty of the brutal murder of his baby son, Cooper Harris, who he left to die in the car in the middle of summer in Atlanta on June 18, 2014. In 2016, the trial revealed the tot's death scene to the world. This photo showed the baby's body covered by a white sheet next to car in the parking lot, where Ross Harris pulled in after leaving work. The jury heard testimony from more than seven women, including a prostitute, who were having sex with and sexting with him up to the day the baby was murdered.
Kim Kardashian was subjected to a terrifying armed robbery in her luxurious Paris apartment on October 3, 2016. Six masked men with guns burst into the apartment, nicknamed the Hotel No Name because of the luxurious location. She was bound and gagged and had millions in jewelry stolen from her. She fled Paris the next day and struggled to overcome the frightening experience. Security footage caught some of the robbers escaping on bicycles but police made no immediate arrests.
Sharon Tate was slaughtered by members of the Manson Family on August 9, 1969 in the home she rented with her husband Roman Polansky. She was eight and a half months pregnant at the time. Madman Omar Mateen was finally shot and killed by the Orlando Police Department after a three-hour standoff.
One of the Orlando shooting victims captured initial gunfire on video in Pulse nightclub early Sunday morning, sharing the footage just minutes before she died. Amanda Alvear had been posting videos to Snapchat throughout the evening, most of which featured a fun-filled night of dancing with friends. But her final video quickly turned into tragedy. During the clip, Alvear is seen clutching her phone as gunshots rang out in the background. Her brother, Brian, said that she was in the bathroom with many other victims and did not survive the shooting.

Miguel Leiva, another Orlando shooting victim, refused to come out of the bathroom at the Pulse nightclub. "Fifteen or 20 of us, maybe even 30 of us, stayed in the stall," said the Miami native. As he waited in the stalls with dozens of other victims, Leiva sent videos to his distraught girlfriend. He later suffered two gunshots wounds before the rescue SWAT team dragged him from the scene.
Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko's estranged wife was arrested for the sickening murder of their two children on March 17, 2016. Police arrived at his home and found Sofya Tsygankova, noting in the police report that "his wife was going crazy and she had blood on her." The two children were also found at the blood-soaked home.
Ingrid Lyne, a mother of three daughters in Seattle, was brutally murdered on April 8, 2016, following a date with a man she met online. Her "fresh" remains were discovered in a recycling bin 2.7 miles away from Safeco Stadium, where she had gone on the date, wrapped in plastic bags. Three separate packages contained Lyne's dismembered body, including her head, arm and leg. Homicide detectives then discovered flesh, blood and a 15-inch pruning saw in the mother-of-three's home bathroom. King County prosecutor Jennifer Worley said in a court hearing on April 12, 2016 that investigators had found "bits of human flesh and blood in the bathtub drain near the saw."
Terror spilled into the streets when Christy Sheats shot her daughters inside their Katy, Texas, home on June 24, 2016. The fatal shooting broke out after a "family meeting" went awry, officials believed. Christy reportedly called her daughters and husband, Jason, into the living room where she began to fire her .38 caliber handgun.
Taylor Sheats, 22, and her sister Madison, 17, were found on the street outside the home with gunshot wounds. Madison died at the scene while her older sister died in the hospital.
The Voice star Christina Grimmie was shot on June 10, 2016, by a 21-year-old white male who had traveled to Orlando with the purpose of shooting her, authorities believed. Karla Abel, a witness, described the shooting: "Everything went f*cking crazy. People were throwing themselves onto the ground, and covering their heads. All I could do was look at the exit doors and duck and run out. But it was terrifying. Everyone was screaming. I turned around once I got to the door, and saw so many people ducking, but I could see her feet. She wasn't moving." Photos of Dallas sniper Micah Xavier Johnson's corpse leaked online after police killed the 25-year-old with a bomb robot hours after he opened fire during a protest over the recent shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. "We cornered one suspect and we tried to negotiate for several hours," Dallas Police Chief David Brown said during a press conference after the shooting. He further explained that there was "an exchange of gunfire with the suspect" when negotiations "broke down."
