Donald Trump is facing severe backlash from critics, RadarOnline.com can reveal, as the U.S. is eyeing naming an aircraft carrier after the president instead of a Black Pearl Harbor hero.
The Navy previously announced that a new Ford-class carrier being built would bear the name USS Doris Miller in honor of a sailor who played a key role in defending America from Japan's attack on December 6, 1941; however, it looks like a shift has been made.
Another Ship Could Possibly Bear Doris Miller's Name

Trump could see his name slapped on a U.S. Navy ship.
According to CNN, the idea to rename it after Miller has been tossed and replaced with the possibility of using the ship to honor the oldest president ever elected.
"The effort to rename the USS Doris Miller has been underway since earlier this year," an insider explained. CNN reports the Navy is now looking to "rename another warship after Miller and is recommending him for the Medal of Honor, the highest decoration for military valor."
"The final authorization for the award is up to Congress and approval from Trump," the report noted. Critics were quick to go off on the 80-year-old politician, as one user on X predicted, "Everything with Trump's name on it will be removed in 2029."
Another quipped, "Name a catering truck after (Trump), instead," and a commentator noted, "In other words, Trump wanted a naval vessel named after himself, who avoided military service, instead of being named after a genuine war hero.
Who Was Doris Miller?

Miller would originally supposed to be honored with his name on the aircraft carrier, but another ship will reportedly bear his moniker.
Trump avoided military service due to a bone spur diagnosis when he was 22 years old. While a great-nephew of the late soldier had not been informed of the name change, according to CNN, but called news of the Medal of Honor possibly being awarded to Miller "very positive."
In response to the report, a Defense Department spokesperson said, "They had nothing to announce at this time." Meanwhile, the Navy cannot afford to delay finalizing the name change, as the ship's keel-laying ceremony is expected at the end of this year. The ship is reportedly not expected to be delivered until 2034.
Miller, who was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr. in the 2001 Michael Bay film based on the attacks, was retrieving laundry when the ship was bombed. Eventually, despite having received no training on the system, Miller took control of an anti-aircraft gun and opened fire on a Japanese aircraft.
According to the Department of Veterans Affairs website, Miller, "although untrained, laid down effective fire and stopped firing when he ran out of ammunition and the ship began to sink. Even then, he persisted in helping his fellow sailors to safety until he finally made his way to shore."
Trump's Name on Everything

The ship is not expected to be deliver until 2034.
As for Trump, he is no stranger to seeing his name on everything, including airports. Earlier this summer, Palm Beach International Airport took on a new name – President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT).
"There is no person who has done more for Florida and our country, and no one more deserving of this incredible honor," Trump's son, Eric, boasted at the time. At the time, the 42-year-old explained he flies out of the Palm Beach airport "nearly every day."
He added, "I will forever be proud to see the initials 'DJT' on my boarding pass... I'm happy to have played a big role in making this happen."
Trump had also slapped his name on the Kennedy Center before a Federal District Court ordered his moniker be removed from the landmark.
Kennedy Center Drama

Trump recently had a Florida airport named after him.
That, however, has not stopped the center's board of trustees from attempting to skirt the judge's ruling by recently approving a two-year closure of the D.C. performing arts center and reportedly adding Trump's name back on the building.
The new name is now: "The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump."
Earlier this week, a huge tarp was seen over the section of the facade where the president's name was previously affixed.
