Erika Jayne Scandal: Judge Gives Orphans Green Light To Go After Reality Star Over Missing $2 Million
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is set to be dragged back to court by her husband Tom Girardi’s victims.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, a federal court judge signed off on a group of orphans and widows being allowed to seek a judgment against the Bravo star personally.
As we previously reported, Jayne’s husband Tom Girardi, who is currently living in a senior living home, was once a high-powered attorney.
Last year, his world started to crumble with accusations he was running his law firm like a Ponzi scheme and screwing clients out of millions.
A group of orphans and widows, who lost their loved ones in a plane crash, claim Girardi represented them in a suit against Boeing. They won a nice settlement but claim Girardi failed to pay out $2 million.
In a federal lawsuit, a law firm named Edelson, who worked with Girardi on the case, sued Jayne and her estranged husband over the missing money. They are trying to get the money to the orphans and widows.
Jayne stands accused of helping her husband embezzle by filing a “sham” divorce to hide assets. She denies knowing anything about Girardi’s alleged misdeeds.
Edelson claims they received bank statements that showed the money meant for the orphans was used directly to pay the bills for Jayne’s company, EJ Global.

Earlier this year, Girardi was forced into Chapter 7 bankruptcy by his various creditors. Financial records show his law firm owes $101 million in liabilities.
Due to the bankruptcy, all lawsuits against Girardi, including the orphans’ case, were put on pause. A trustee was put in place to take over control of Girardi’s finances and determine the best plan to pay off the debt.
Edelson had been demanding permission to go after Jayne for the money, but the trustee originally objected. However, they had a change of heart and withdrew their opposition this week.
As a result, the judge presiding over the case signed off on Edelson’s request to go after Jayne in the original federal lawsuit, which was put on hold due to the Chapter 7. Jayne has yet to comment on the massive setback.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is also facing a $25 million suit as part of the bankruptcy. The trustee is demanding she pay back the money Girardi’s firm spent on her from 2008 until 2020.
Jayne has already moved to dismiss the case claiming she did nothing wrong. A judge has yet to decide.
