Britney Spears’ mom showed her face in public despite the backlash growing against her after demanding her daughter pay her bills.
Over the weekend, Lynne Spears was photographed leaving Sunday Service in Louisiana. Britney’s mom rocked a white long-sleeve top with a pair of dark denim jeans.
In the photos, Lynne can be seen wearing a diamond-encrusted cross necklace and a pair of designer Ray-Ban sunglasses.
Britney's mother was seen walking with an older female friend but did not have any family members by her side. The public appearance is the first time she has been spotted since demanding the Toxic singer pay the two law firms she hired to represent her in the conservatorship.
Lynne's lawyers filed a motion portraying their client as Britney's savior. They said she immediately sprung into action in 2019 after learning of how her daughter was being treated.
In her motion, Lynne said she hired the Louisiana law firm of Jones Swanson Huddell & Garrison (Jones Swanson) to represent her in the conservatorship proceedings. Lynne also hired a California lawyer named Yasha Bronshyen to assist the Louisiana lawyers.
She says the decision to obtain legal counsel came after discovering Britney was only given a small allowance, forced to use a flip phone instead of an iPhone, had her travel restricted by Jamie and was not allowed to see her boyfriend Sam without approval.
The final straw allegedly came after she found out Britney’s team forced her into an extended stay at a medical facility against her will.
She is asking the court to have her legal bills paid by Britney. The docs say Jones Swanson is owed $800k but are willing to discount the bill down to $504k. Bronshyen is owed $146k in fees. The grand total for both comes to $650k.
The judge has yet to rule. Lynne’s move in court came hours before Britney unleashed on her mother on social media. She accused her of being the one who came up with the idea for the conservatorship, not her father.
"The moment I SMILE and I realize I haven’t in a very long time !!!! My mom gets so CONCERNED and says ‘You’re acting weird … what’s wrong with you ???’ I say ‘Hi, my name is Britney Spears … nice to finally meet you !!!’ Before I go any further, forgive me in advance …. It’s been 13 years and I’m a little rusty !!!! It was a family business before … it’s no longer that anymore," she added.
Britney has yet to respond to Lynne's request for $650k.
