We never thought we'd see the day — Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are officially divorced!
The duo has been battling for more than 10 years, marking one of the longest and drawn-out divorces in Hollywood history. According to reports, a sitting judge entered their divorce into the system on Tuesday — making it legal.
Earlier this month, it was revealed Arnold, 74, and Maria, 66, were getting closer to ending their war after a judge signed off on their divorce. The only problem was, it needed to be entered into the system — ahem, enter the sitting judge.
There are multiple reasons this divorce was so prolonged. For one, they had a complex property settlement agreement. They are also extremely busy individuals. Arnold's an award-winning superstar and Maria is juggling her corresponding gig on NBC News with being an overall boss.
Possibly the biggest reason is that they didn't have a prenuptial agreement when they tied the knot in 1986.
According to reports, their whopping estimated $400 million got split right down the middle.
The couple was married for 25 years. Maria famously filed for divorce from the Terminator actor on July 1, 2011, after she discovered he had secretly fathered a love child with their then housekeeper, Mildred Patricia "Patty" Baena.
Joseph Baena was born on October 2, 1997. Here's the kicker — Maria gave birth only days prior. The journalist and Arnold welcomed their fourth child, son Christopher, on September 27, 1997.
It wasn't until May 2011 that Arnold's affair and secret love child were exposed.
Despite the embarrassing blunder, the exes have remained thick as thieves for the sake of their four children. Arnold and Maria have both moved on in their personal lives too.
Arnold found love again with his girlfriend of several years, 47-year-old Heather Milligan. Maria has reportedly been dating on and off since filing for divorce.
