If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!
Several sources exclusively confirmed to RadarOnline.com that Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson’s husband Shane Simpson didn’t pass the California Bar Exam in February, but he took it again and is awaiting the results.
Shane had been busy studying for the first test while Emily was filming — but it clearly wasn't enough.
“Today the State Bar released results of the February 2019 California Bar Exam and announced that 1,458 people (31.4 percent of applicants) passed the General Bar Exam,” the State Bar of California website noted on May 17. “This is an increase of 4.1 percentage points over last year’s February pass rate of 27.3 percent. If those passing applicants satisfy all other requirements for admission, they will be eligible to be licensed by the State Bar to practice law in California.”
Leah T. Wilson, the Executive Director of the State Bar, addressed the low pass rate of the difficult exam. "We are encouraged to see the increase in pass rate over last year. However, the overall low pass rate continues to be a concern and a focus here in California — to address it, we have two significant studies under way this year that we expect to complete by year end," she revealed on the site.
Emily is a practicing attorney in California, and she's listed on the California Bar Organization website, while her husband is not, according to online records.
However, Shane obtained his law license in Utah in 2011, online records confirmed.
As RHOC viewers saw on the show this season, Shane moved into a hotel to prepare for the California Bar Exam while Bravo cameras rolled on his wife, children and parents.

On a recent episode of RHOC, Emily told her co-star Gina Kirschenheiter that she missed her husband during his week away, during which he was a no-show at a party she threw for his parents.
“Shane took the test in Ontario, which is several hours away from his home,” a source explained to Radar. “It was a three-day test, and he stayed in the hotel so he didn’t have to travel back and forth each day.”
But his return was filled with tension, and Shane told confessional cameras that he didn’t miss the family.
"I don't cry myself to sleep because I miss my family,” he said.
Shane’s absence seemed to hit a sore spot with his wife, who posted a cryptic message on social media.
"At the end of the day, all that really matters is what my children think of me," she wrote after the episode aired.
