Demi Moore Reveals 2012 Drug Overdose Horror In New Memoir: ‘I Was Floating Out Of My Body’
Demi Moore’s world came crashing down when she suffered a seizure after inhaling nitrous oxide, or “whip-its,” back in January 2012. The actress never spoke out about the rock-bottom moment — until now.
RadarOnline.com can exclusively report the star, 56, told all about the life-threatening incident in her new book Inside Out, in bookstores on September 24.
Two months after she allegedly caught then-husband Ashton Kutcher cheating with a 22-year-old woman at a bachelor party, Moore said she rapidly losing weight and misusing medication amid her deep sadness.
During this time, she hosted a party in her home with her daughter Rumer, who was just 23 at the time.
“I did what other people were doing: sucked in a hit of nitrous oxide, and when the joint reached me on the sunken couch in my living room, I took a puff of synthetic pot (it was called Diablo, fittingly),” she wrote.
She then had a seizure, she said.
“The next thing I remember, everything went blurry and I could see myself from above. I was floating out of my body into swirling colors, and it seemed like maybe this was my chance: I could leave the pain and shame of my life behind.”

Moore’s friends called 911, and she was rushed to the hospital.
In the aftermath, Rumer was “completely freaked out,” Moore said, and joined her sisters Scout and Tallulah by refusing to speak to her mother for more than a year.
The girls’ father, Bruce Willis, also cut ties with Moore, despite their decades-long friendship after divorce.
With nowhere else to turn, she checked into treatment.
Now, Moore said she has a great relationship with her kids, and is in recovery.
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, the actress claimed Kutcher pushed her into relapsing on alcohol after 20 years of sobriety early in their relationship.
She soon spiraled into blacking out on booze and abusing prescription drugs.
RadarOnline.com also first reported Moore accused her ex in the book of cheating with two younger women in the final days of their marriage.
Kutcher quickly moved on with Mila Kunis, and the couple shares two children.
