Season 10 of Teen Mom OG kicked off with a bang, as Maci Bookout’s baby daddy Ryan Edwards was arrested yet again. On the premiere episode, Ryan landed himself in jail for 90 days after breaking probation.
On the episode, Ryan’s wife Mackenzie praised him for completing a 90-day stint in rehab, missing the birth of their son Jagger.
"I’m glad you’re back, I missed you,” she said. “Now you can change some diapers. I’m glad you went and finished all the 90 days. That wasn’t fun."
Ryan responded, “I didn’t have a choice.”
But baby mama Maci wasn’t as encouraging, as she was hesitant to talk to him when he asked to apologize to her face-to-face.
“Two things you don’t f**k with when it comes to me,” Maci said. "My kids and my husband. He has done both.”
But Maci had reason to worry, as Ryan ordered a beer during dinner with his wife.
“Not a good look?” Ryan asked, as Mackenzie nodded her head no.
“I missed you, I was gone for a long time,” he told her, as she responded, “I don’t ever want to do that again. I don’t want to hear words anymore. I don’t want these 90 days to be a waste. I would like for it to mean something. I can’t worry about things I can’t change, but it still creeps in there.”
Ryan was then arrested for possession of heroin and theft.
When Maci told their son Bentley, she explained that he was “disappointed.”
Mackenzie explained of the arrest, “He got arrested because they said he didn't pay a $30 bar tab. Any probation violation that happens will fall under the original possession of heroin charge from 2016. So under his mugshot, it’s going to say possession of heroin. So everyone assumes Ryan is on heroin.”
She added, “There is a part of me that’s just angry. I didn’t sign up to be a single mother!"
Ryan ended up accepting a plea deal to be in jail for 90 days.
Also on the episode, Cheyenne Floyd didn’t approve of baby daddy Cory Wharton bringing their daughter Ryder around his new girlfriend Taylor.
“I don’t want her around Ryder,” she said. “If she wants to be around Ryder. We need to sit down and have a conversation. If I don’t want somebody around my kid, I don’t want them around my kid.”
When Cory explained how he didn’t have a problem with her bringing her ex around Ryder, she fired back, “This is just a bed buddy! Your bed buddys don’t need to be around the baby."
He yelled back, “It’s not just your baby. Get over it!”
Later on in the episode, Cheyenne explained how it’s hard for her to share their daughter. They then agreed to have Taylor meet Ryder when they get more serious.
But it quickly did, as Cory went on vacation with her and made their relationship Instagram official.
“She comes off very young and immature to me,” Cheyenne said. “You don’t need to post pictures of your tongues touching”
Their daughter was then hospitalized for the flu, which is more dangerous for her since she suffers from VLCAD.
Although Cory got home “as quick as possible,” fans slammed him for not being in the hospital with his daughter.
“Cory missed all of it,” Cheyenne said. “He’s never going to understand. He doesn’t see the times where she screaming like she’s going to die. Your child has a rare disease. When she has a flu or a fever, she doesn’t have a normal flu or fever. She could go into shock. She could have a seizure. She could die. You have to understand these things.”
As for Amber Portwood, she admitted that her mood swings have affected her relationship with boyfriend Andrew Glennon. As readers know, she suffers from borderline personality and bipolar disorder.
“I want to improve communication with you on bad days,” Andrew said, as she responded. “I see you not understanding sometimes. I’ve seen 10 doctors and psychiatrists. I was very suicidal. I get so scared to even talk about anything because I feel like I’m going to get attacked.”
In an effort to communicate better and to have Andrew understand what she’s going through, he agreed to go to therapy with her. This is also the first time MTV cameras have filmed a therapy session.
“I haven’t been doing very well when it comes to mood swings,” she said to her therapist. "Every tiny thing will enrage me. Sometimes I feel attacked when Andrew doesn’t understand things."
Andrew said he tries to make jokes and use sarcasm, but it often doesn’t help Amber.
"I need to be more aware of body language,” he agreed.
Her therapist then explained that both disorders have a high suicide rate.
“Every year I’ve tried with medications,” Amber cried. “I’ll do anything. I love this man more than anything. He treats me really well. I feel like I’m a bad person sometimes. It’s like a war with this f**king brain. I want to hear someone tell me there is a cure. So I could walk outside and feel happy.”
Last season left off with Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra temporarily separating. As RadarOnline.com readers know, Catelynn completed back-to-back rehab stints for suicidal thoughts following a devastating miscarriage. Tyler needed time to focus on himself, as he took care of their daughter Novalee.
Catelynn is pregnant on the episode with the couple’s rainbow baby, a daughter they named Vaeda.
She explained of the separation, “We’re telling Nova daddy is over there cause he’s fixing the new house. That’s all she needs to know. I’m going to start getting boxes and packing small boxes here. I hope it works out.”
Tyler then said that Catelynn has been “doing good” during the separation.
“She’s not on the couch all the time,” he said. “Hopefully enjoying life a little more.”
When they moved back in together, Catelynn said they have been “doing well.”
