The new addition comes after Mackenzie lost a spot on Teen Mom 2 to Briana DeJesus and on Teen Mom OG to Bristol.

“Mackenzie has been filming,” a source told Radar. “She will appear in a few episodes towards the end of the season.”
A second insider told Radar that her appearance is a “trial period.” The run will determine if she will “continue as an original girl.”
The new addition comes after Bristol left the series after only one season.
“Teen Mom OG wasn’t a fit for me, it took away my peace... and honestly – my peace has a price tag that no one but God can afford,” she announced on Monday, April 1. “$ doesn’t impress me, I don’t entertain bs, and walking away from this show allows God to rebuild me (and my little fam) in the right direction.”
No Open Arms!
But Maci, Amber, Catelynn and Cheyenne may not be happy about the new addition. When asked about adding a fifth girl, Amber said in an interview with Us Weekly, “No, we’re good.” Maci added, “No new friends.” Catelynn agreed, “No, I’m good with just four.”
Mackenzie, 24, was in the running to join Teen Mom 2, but lost the gig to her Teen Mom 3 co-star Briana. “They interviewed me and Bri two months ago, but chose her,” she told Radar in March 2017. “I thought, ‘This can’t be true!’ I was confused.”
She was also in the running to replace Farrah Abraham on Teen Mom OG after her firing, but the role went to Bristol and Cheyenne.
"It's obvious what is going on right now and that's okay," she told Radar in September 2018. "I have nothing bad to say about anyone. I am happy for them all. These girls have a great opportunity and I hope they use it in a positive way."
When Bristol quit, Mackenzie told Radar in April 2019 that she “doesn’t know what MTV’s plans are.”
“Me and Josh are thriving right now and living our best life,” the Body By Mac owner said. “We are really shining on YouTube and my business is thriving and I have so many plans in the works.”
Mackenzie is mom to children Gannon, Jaxie and Broncs with husband Josh. Her mom Angie, who is a fan-favorite with the Teen Mom community, is currently battling Stage IV lung cancer.
Ready For Her Close-Up!
Mackenzie teased she could be filming for the series over the weekend. “America’s psychologist @drjeffgardere what a fun day of filming,” she wrote on Instagram.
