Jax Says He'll Always Be No. 1 In Relationship With Brittany During Heated Talk With Her Dad
Mean Jax Taylor is back.
On the April 22 episode of Vanderpump Rules, Jax came off like a total jerk to his future father-in-law.
Brittany Cartwright’s entire family came to Los Angeles to celebrate her engagement and all was fun and smiles until her dad and brothers confronted Jax about his cheating ways.
"This is what gets me about it," Brittany's dad, Don, said to Jax at a guys-only dinner.
"You sent that picture, and she was grinning from ear to ear with that ring on her finger, and that seems real important to her — that big rock and everything, and everybody was all excited about that. But what's important to me is the faithfulness behind it. That's the most important thing. The rock don't mean anything."
Despite being cornered, the VPR star controlled his temper, and explained that he had changed.
"It's terrible that it took my dad to pass for me to figure all this sh*t out," he told his fiancée’s dad.
"I know you lost your dad, but you screwed up royally, and it didn't please me at all," Don told him. “And probably nobody else.”
"I was going through my own personal issues when I did what I did," Jax said, adding that he was trying his best with his daughter.
Austin, one of Brittany's brothers, warned Jax about mistreating his sister. "Talking to Brittany, she seems to really care about you. Don't know why after all you've done to her, but if you do screw up, your life will be a living hell,” he said, as another brother weighed in.
Wes asked Jax if he asked for blessings from the family to marry Brittany, telling him: “I want you to love and cherish her the way my family loves and cherishes her."
"But can she love and cherish me?" Jax said back to him.
"I think she does," Wes replied and Jax rolled his eyes and sarcastically said: “Sometimes."
In his confessional Jax ripped into Brittany’s country family.
"I don't know what decade they're living in. That's maybe the way they live in Kentucky in that small neck of the woods, that's how they do things,” he said. “Always take care of your spouse. What about making me happy? You also gotta take care of your husband."
Back at the dinner, Wes told Jax, “It all comes down to your tone of how you talk to each other.”
"That's a hard thing for me because I always have to have the last word,” Jax admitted.
"Again, I love Brittany more than anything, but I gotta take care of this guy here first," he said about himself. "I'm always gonna be number one."
After the show aired, Jax defended himself on Twitter, blaming the VPR editors for his poor showing.

“For those of you who want to come at me for tonight’s dinner scene, first of all. Yes, mentally I have to put myself first or I won’t be able to take care of my wife or my kids, that is what I meant by that, and for the most of you I think you got that, I wouldn’t be making all these moves forward and say something so selfish, I believe everyone needs to put themselves first or how can I possibly be good for anyone,” Jax wrote.
“In 7 years never once complained about editing, but this scene was edited horribly, I even spoke to her father after and he was like ‘This is not how it went.’ We are both on the same page, just so you know, and he agrees with me. And that’s all that matters, wanted to clear that up. I feel I owe it to you guys (viewers). I don’t want to let anyone down ever again,” Jax told his fans.
Meanwhile, Brittany took Stassi Schroder, Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute dress shopping. There, she asked Katie to be her Matron of Honor and her best friend Cara her maid of honor. She then asked the rest of the girls, including Ariana Madix to be her bridesmaids and Kristen was perturbed.
“This conversation is making me sh*t my pants,” Kristen said in her confessional. “Clearly I want to be the maid of honor.”
Brittany explained that she asked the two other girls first and Kristen interrupted her to say: “You didn't want me to take her down?"
“You’re not a matron,” Brittany told her, but she was crushed.
Scheana Marie’s bizarre love life gave her a story line this episode. She scheduled a date with a hot guy named Ethan and tried to call out Adam’s bluff after he told her that it was ok for them to date other people because he didn’t want to be serious.
She spent the date Snapchatting to Ariana and Stassi, who were out with Adam and showed him the videos. He wasn’t pleased with Scheana’s date, but he still didn’t want to be her boyfriend.
