Leaks' lifestyle is expensive to maintain. Her outspoken and outgoing behavior made her a fan-favorite, and the show wouldn't be as fabulous without her. Leaks didn't tie herself down to reality TV alone. Additionally, she booked acting jobs and paved a path into fashion. Take a look how the former stripper became "rich… very rich."

The real housewife and her husband, Gregg Leakes, did not always have so much of money. In 2008 the couple was reportedly evicted for failing to pay rent and were forced to leave their home. Then, in 2010, Leakes was furious when she found out Dwight Eubanks loaned her husband $10,000! Despite their serious financial woes Leakes didn't need anyone but herself to get rich. Leakes quickly became one of the most famous housewives, which justified bigger and better contracts.

By 2012 NeNe was earning $750,000 per season with bonuses for filming specials like the Housewives Reunion. Leakes even had a spin off on the network called, I Dream of NeNe as well as a "made-for-TV" million dollar wedding. She accumulated $4,000,000 from the show by the end of season five. Leakes hinted that she might be done with the show, but the show wasn't done with the star.  She signed a new contract worth 1 million dollars per season, making her the highest paid housewife on the show. She accepted this million dollar salary for seasons six through eight before leaving the show in 2015.

In 2011 Leakes was a contestant on The Apprentice and claimed she was "rich... very rich." She famously boasted to Sheree Whitfield “While you were running your mouth, I was running to the bank … depositing a Trump check!” She continued to make money from other reality shows and starred on Dancing With The Stars, and E!’s Fashion Police.

Leakes had attempted to become an actress before she was on RHOA but had little success. It was her reality show fame that ultimately lead foray into acting. She landed a reoccurring guest role as coach Roz on Glee from 2012-2015. She starred in 13 episodes and definitely got some nice checks from the major network television show.

Leakes kept branching out further eventually venturing into the fashion industry as another way to add to her wealth. She launched a clothing line with the Home Shopping Network in 2014, and her collection sold out. In 2016 she opened up a store called Swagg Boutique, where she sells her own line. She often posts picture of herself in the store modeling her clothing on Instagram.

Leakes may have strayed away from the RHOA franchise—but not for long. She returned Season 10, but not before demanding more cash. Leakes reportedly earned 2.5 million dollars to give the fans what they wanted. And she was worth every cent! Season 10 was the most successful season to date. But 2.5 million dollars still wasn’t enough for her and Leakes got another increase for season 11 and made a shocking 2.7 million dollar deal!

WORK HARD PLAY HARD

It’s no secret Leakes likes the finer things in life like: cars, name brands, mansions, vacations, and plastic surgery. The more money she makes, the more she enjoys these luxuries. In 2010 she got her first nose job , and in 2016 she got a second one. Doctors who haven't treated Leakes allege she’s also received Botox as well as chin liposuction. She admitted to Wendy Williams that she “liked that liposuction stuff,"  and would get it again when she needs to. Whatever she’s getting done, it isn’t cheap!

Leakes may have gotten shade for being evicted, but she’s the last one laughing. In 2015 she put $750,000 as a down payment for a $2,0750,000 million mansion at the lush Sugarloaf Country Club. The mansion has six bedrooms, seven baths, access to a golf course, three private lakes, and 14 tennis courts, and an Olympic competition swimming pool. Leakes also loves to buy flashy cars and has been seen driving both a Maserati and a Range Rover.

Aside from her money going to surgeries, cars, and expensive clothes, close to a million dollars went back to the government. Leakes was hit with a tax debt of $824,366 in back taxes in 2016 but was able to pay off her debt in full. Leakes turned down filming season nine but after getting hit by Uncle Sam it is no surprise that she returned for season 10 and 11 in order to continue to live her lavish lifestyle.
