'High Out Of His Mind' Matthew Perry Once Superglued His Hands To His Legs
Matthew Perry was once so “high out of his mind” that he superglued his hands to his legs in a crazed effort to stop moving, RadarOnline.com has learned!
That’s the latest revelation from Perry's longtime friend, Kayti Edwards, who opened up in an exclusive interview about what the former Friends star was like when he was in the height of his drug addiction.
"It got to the point where Matthew was using drugs every day," Edwards told In Touch Weekly. "It was about three months of heavy partying. He was definitely on a roll for about three months."
Perry has been very candid about his drug addiction. The 49-year-old went to rehab twice, and while he's seemingly stayed sober since his last rehab stint in 2001, no one has known the extent of Perry's drug abuse — until now.
Edwards said she realized Perry was in the throes of his addiction when she drove over to his house and found him in a very distressed state.
"So his assistant is on the phone, and I’m thinking that she’s calling rehab because he’s been on a roll for the last three months, and I’m pretty sure that this was towards the end of his debauchery," Edwards explained. "He’s screaming my name, and I go back into the living room, and I’m looking at him and he’s high out of his mind, and he hadn’t showered in like nine days or something.”
That’s when Edwards said she noticed Perry was sitting on the couch with his hands on his legs.
“He kept saying, 'You need to unstick me, you need to unstick me.' And I said, 'What do you mean unstick you?'” Edwards revealed. “The guy has just superglued his hands to his legs, and in my mind, I’m thinking, who superglues their hands to their legs?"
“Apparently, he was so high and so out of his mind, that since he couldn’t stop moving, that it would be a good idea to superglue his hands down to his legs," she continued.

Edwards was forced to free the funnyman, at first trying to loosen the glue with olive oil, before eventually just ripping it off “like a band-aid.”
“I couldn’t believe what I was doing,” she confessed. “I had just ripped a few layers of his skin, and I knew that I had to do the other one.”
Edwards previously revealed Perry had an 80-a-day Vicodin habit, before he moved on to other drugs.
“During the time that he was doing crack and cocaine, Perry locked himself in his house,” she said. “His friends found it hard to see him spiral down like that.”
