A 92-year old Arizona woman allegedly shot dead her son after he tried to put her in an assisted living facility.
A frail looking Anna Mae Blessing, of Fountain Hills appeared in court, in a wheelchair and orange jumpsuit, to face charges of first-degree murder plus aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping.
Shockingly, she is accused of gunning down her 72-year-old son Thomas Blessing with one of two weapons she stored under her bed in her room at his girlfriend's condo.
The couple moved her there six months ago but the old woman had become worried that they were plotting to move her into an assisted living facility.
It is alleged that on Monday morning Blessing hid two pistols inside her robe and walked into her son's room before shooting him twice.
One bullet struck him in the neck and the other struck his jaw.
His 57-year-old girlfriend was able to wrestle he gun from her before calling 911.
Chillingly as she was arrested Blessing said: "You ended my life, so I'm taking yours."
When detectives asked Blessing what she thinks should happen to her she told them she should be "put to sleep" as a result of her actions.
