Ann Curry is not holding back when talking about Matt Lauer's sexual misconduct scandal. Despite her many attempts to keep quiet, the former Today anchor came clean about her feelings toward her known nemesis in an explosive interview with PEOPLE.
After speaking of her infamous 2015 firing and her life-changing career move, Curry, 61, was asked to talk about ex co-host Matt Lauer, 60, and his recent sex scandal.
At first, a cautious Curry claimed she felt only "tremendous empathy for the victims." She added that she was happy women were finally speaking up, because the "Me Too" movement was "far overdue."
The publication's interviewer than brought up the hilarious Curry vs. Lauer drama that went viral on social media late last year. After the famed anchor's NBC firing, Curry fans began tweeting cheeky phrases such as: "Somewhere Ann Curry just made her orange juice a mimosa," and "Somewhere Ann Curry is breaking out that champagne."
Hearing this, Ann Curry told the reporter how she truly felt after the Lauer scandal.
"I wish I could say that I was celebrating," she responded. "But actually I immediately checked myself. Because I knew women had suffered."
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Matt Lauer was said to have been the deciding force behind Ann Curry's shocking Today show firing three years ago. Since then, the two have been known as two of TV's most vicious enemies.
After Lauer's downfall, however, the We'll Meet Again star is thriving like never before.
"Everybody can rest assured," she told PEOPLE, "somewhere Ann Curry is having a great life."
