WATCH: 'TODAY' Announces Billy Bush Suspension Live On Air
May 24 2018, Updated 5:03 p.m. ET
Billy Bush did not appear on this morning's TODAY, as the fallout from his participation in the disturbing Donald Trump tape leaked Friday continues to plague the popular morning show.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, the 44-year-old's suspension was first revealed on Twitter Sunday night, just one day after reports claimed Bush wouldn't be punished for the 2005 recording.
"Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy's language and behavior on that tape," network executive Noah Oppenheim reportedly told staffers in a memo. "NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter."
Fifteen minutes into Monday's segment, co-anchor Savannah Guthrie addressed the matter in a short statement.
"Pending further review of the matter, NBC News has suspended Billy Bush, the host of TODAY's third hour, for his role in that conversation with Donald Trump," she told viewers.

Though Bush quickly issued a public apology for the tape last week, his temporary suspension has been issued nonetheless.
"Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed," he said on Friday. "It's no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I'm very sorry."
