The ongoing battle to be the queen of E! News has come to an end. On Wednesday, controversial TV host Giuliana Rancic announced that she would be stepping down from the anchor position and a source close to the network says that she will be replaced by none other than her frenemy, Maria Menounos.

An insider tells RadarOnline.com, "Maria is beyond excited at the upcoming opportunity to be the anchor for E! News. She came in gunning for Giuliana's job and she got it."

In February, RadarOnline.com was the first to report that there were tensions between the twosome, as a well-connected network insider said that Menounos was brought on to replace Rancic as the host of the show.

Rancic finally announced she would be leaving Tuesday night, with a statement that said, "For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show.”

The statement came after months of turmoil for fan fave Rancic. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, in February, the 40-year-old wife of Bill Rancic faced extreme backlash because of comments that she made towards Zendaya Coleman on Fashion Police. Rancic was accused of being racist because she joked that the Disney star's dreadlocks "smelled like patchouli oil, or weed.”

Now, Rancic will still be involved with the network and remain as a co-host on Fashion Police and Live From The Red Carpet.

"Live From The Red Carpet will only last if she can get the celebrities back on her side,” says the source, adding, "As far as Fashion Police goes, she is going to stay on that show because of her friendship with Melissa Rivers.”
