Authorities in Lake Mary, Florida released a 911 call in the shooting involving George Zimmerman Monday, in which the caller said man told him he "had to shoot" at him.
In the 48-second clip, the unidentified caller told the 911 operator that a man (later identified as Matthew Apperson) "just said he had to shoot someone through his window, so he wants the police to come."
The caller later told the operator, "He said it was George Zimmerman," who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries as result of the exchange.
No charges had been filed in connection with the exchange Tuesday, police said, as investigators were looking at the incident as possible aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

Authorities said Tuesday they had yet to speak with Apperson or Zimmerman, both of whom had hired lawyers.
The embattled Zimmerman's attorney Don West said that his client's "injuries were to his right forearm and face," adding, "It was a near-death experience, frankly, and he was pretty stunned by the whole thing."

Zimmerman -- a one-time neighborhood watch volunteer -- became a household name following his February 2012 shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, in a case that stirred racial tension in the community of Sanford, Florida where it took place. Zimmerman was subsequently acquitted in the incident in 2013.
Police said anyone who witnessed the incident should contact them at 407-585-1323.
