After her pitbull Kingsley attacked her niece Alexia Umansky earlier this month, Kim Richards has move the dog from her home — at least, for now.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 50, left her aggressive canine with a trainer weeks after the dog attacked Kyle Richards’ 18-year-old daughter, after which the teen was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for an emergency procedure on her thumb.

The canine attack has caused tension in the Richards family as the holidays approach, as an insider told RadarOnline.com exclusively that “Kyle has told Kim the dog needs to be euthanized, and her family won’t go to her house until the dog is gone.”

The incident, the source said, has left Kim “absolutely heartbroken” choosing between her loved ones and her beloved dog, who can be “very gentle and sweet, but can become very dangerous, quickly.”

Kim later admitted that the dog’s mercurial behavior had forced her hand, leaving her “looking at options to what the next step” is for her canine companion.

“This is a very difficult decision and time for all of us,” Kim said, “but the safety of my family always comes first.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kim is facing possible litigation after Kingsley attacked her longtime friend Kay Rozario, 80, in March.
