Sam Lutfi admits that he’s most often described in the media as a “shady” “svengali.” But in a bizarre new first-person post for XOJane.com, Lutfi claims such descriptions are “absolutely dead wrong,” because he’s only "trying to help Amanda Bynes.” Will the world believe him?
"I've worked in Hollywood for a long time, and over the years, these experiences have led me to see what happens when too much fame and too much money can sometimes get the best of celebrities,” Lutfi writes in the piece. "I am a problem solver, and I care about helping people get out of what may seem like some of their more difficult places in life. Which is why you have seen me associated with some of the more famous celebrities when they are in their most trying hours …”
As RadarOnline.com has reported, Lutfi was by Britney Spears’ side during her infamous 2012 meltdown, and she and her family later got restraining orders against him. He has also tried to establish friendships with Lindsay Lohan, Courtney Love and even Michael Jackson’s teenage daughter, Paris. Currently, Lutfi is working with Love, who he says encouraged him to write the weird piece.
In 2010, an entire family was granted a restraining order against Lutfi for allegedly threatening and harassing them.
And in recent weeks, he had insinuated himself into Bynes’ inner circle. "All I can tell you is that Amanda is getting the help that she needs and that I am working closely with her and her family in order to ensure that we can move on from the tabloid sensationalism of her ‘breakdown' and instead concentrate on what a rare, talented young woman she has always been and continues to be,” he wrote.
But meanwhile, a source previously told RadarOnline.com, "Amanda is disgusted with Sam and has been openly telling anyone who will listen that she hates him for inserting himself into her family, and tricking her to come back to Los Angeles. Even though Amanda is suffering from serious mental health issues, she is lucid enough to know that Sam is someone she wants nothing to do with."
"Remember, this is someone who has absolutely no professional experience managing or dealing with celebrities. Being Britney Spears' errand boy at the height of her meltdown doesn't count as any tangible work experience!” the source said.
"Amanda is a beautiful, amazing and very strong woman who has been through a lot,” Lutfi claims in the strange piece. "So are Courtney and Britney. Like me, they are also survivors. Call me whatever name you need to but please, leave these women alone.”
Do you believe that Lutfi is just trying to help or is his presence in Bynes’ life concerning? Let us know in the comments!
