Meghan McCain Turns Down Gig On 'The View' -- The Search For Co-Hosts Continues!

After losing all their co-hosts except for Whoopi Goldberg, and only Rosie O'Donnell signing on to come back to The View, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the network lost another hopeful in Meghan McCain when she turned down the gig.
"Network execs really wanted her. She was going to be their 'new' Elisabeth Hasselbeck because of her Republican stance, but with a much younger reach and more open stance on social issues," a TV insider told RadarOnline.com.
"But ultimately Meghan turned it down. She doesn't mind doing guest appearances on the show, but it's not something she wanted to do full time. She enjoys her current job at TakePart Live and wants to see where it goes."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, network execs were excited about the prospect of landing Senator John McCain's 29-year-old daughter.
"Meghan has enough on her plate right now," the insider added.
"Joining The View wouldn't allow her to work on the things she's really passionate about, so although it seemed like a good opportunity, it just wasn't for her."
The daytime talk show lost three of their co-hosts this year when Barbara Walters retired, Sherri Shepherd left after seven years to move on with other endeavors, and Jenny McCarthy split after just one season.
So the hunt continues to fill seats on The View!
