‘Dance Moms’ star Abby Lee Miller confirmed her engagement to Michael Padula last week on the Wendy Williams Show— but RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that the hunky communications specialist has been very active in Los Angeles’ gay community in recent years.
Miller, 47, who posed with a sparkling rock on her ring finger and wrote “I do!!!” in a cozy Instagram photo with Padula, 33, may not know that her new man was recently a member of SoCal Social Club, a networking organization for the LGBT community in the L.A. area.

In 2011, the Louisiana native-turned-Angeleno attended several SoCal Social Club events, including a January party advertised for LGBT theater lovers, OUTrageous @ Pantages, in Los Feliz, California.

And according to a February 2008 article in LA Weekly, Padula, a former West Hollywood ballroom and Latin dance instructor, was training to compete in the gay ballroom dance national competition held by the National Gay Dance Council of America.
Later that year, the part-time actor starred in Neurotica, a short film about patrons in a gay bar.
Though she seems serious about her Padula, who now resides on the east coast, insiders say Miller may know more about her new man than she lets on.
“She could know about Michael and just be engaged to him for attention,” suggests a source.
The controversial star’s new series, Abby’s Dance Studio, premieres tonight on Lifetime.
