Since Brittany Murphy's shocking death in 2009, national security whistleblower and friend of the actress, Julia Davis, has alleged that Homeland Security is actually responsible for the actress' death — and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that both Murphy and her late husband Simon Monjack believed the government was spying on them.

Davis, a national security expert and former Border Protection Officer was branded a "Domestic Terrorist" after she blew the whistle and exposed glaring problems within the Department of Homeland Security in 2004

In fact, Murphy, 32, was even called as a witness in the Julia Davis case in which she was suing the government for wrongful imprisonment.

Davis and her husband made a documentary titled Top Priority — The Terror Within that claimed Murphy and Monjack were on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's watch list, that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were trying to kick Monjack out of the country and that when Monjack (a British citizen) was arrested for an expired visa, it was just a scare tactic used to intimidate Murphy because she was defending Davis.

"Brittany had planned to use her star power and public platform to help defend Julia and bring this injustice to light," an insider told RadarOnline.com.

"But she never got the chance."

Monjack often told RadarOnline.com that he and Murphy both believed they were being watched by the government, and he believed they had something to do with her death.

He of course, died just five months after her, of the same exact cause — pneumonia and acute anemia.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Monjack had high-tech security for their home that was anything but regular.

"There’s actually 56 cameras that cover the house, Monjack told RadarOnline.com just two months before his own death.

"Inside the house, outside the house, down into the cul-de-sac."

Monjack, 40, even showed RadarOnline.com scrambling devices the couple had installed so the government couldn't listen in on their phone conversations.

"Brittany did tell me she was under surveillance, and incidentally, so was I," Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti says in a clip from Top Priority.

The documentary goes on to say, "Simon Monjack and Brittany Murphy were subjected to the same terror tactics that were utilized by the Department of Homeland Security in the Julia Davis case."

Davis and her husband BJ also speak in the documentary of a neighbor, Matthew Judd, who filmed a Black Hawk raid over their home, gave the tape to them, and then was found dead in his home just weeks later — at the age of 25.

You can watch Judd's footage of the Black Hawk raid at 1:43 in the video above.

"Simon was always talking about how 'Big Brother' was watching them, and for good reason," the source told RadarOnline.com.

"He and Brittany's involvement with certain Homeland Security and Central Intelligence incidents made Simon feel like they couldn't do anything without being watched by the government."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Murphy's father recently fought to gain samples of his daughter's hair and blood tested by a Colorado lab, which revealed an uncommonly high presence of heavy metals, a toxic substance also detected in insecticide and rat poison.

“I have a feeling that there was a definite murder situation here — it’s poison, yes, I know that," Bertolotti told Good Morning America on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has agreed to reopen the investigation into the death of the Clueless star and her husband if presented with "credible evidence."
