Former Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was released from an Indiana prison on Monday morning after serving 17-months of a five-year sentence — which she asked for! -- after failing to comply with mandatory terms of her drug program, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
Dressed in grey sweats with her long, dark hair down, Portwood, 24, was all smiles as she was greeted by family and a host of media.
Noticeably absent was her 4-year-old daughter, Leah, but the MTV reality star revealed in video obtained by RadarOnline.com that she will connect with her later in the day.
"I want to go get something good to eat," Portwood said of the first thing she wants to do.
While talking with the media, Portwood appeared to be getting mic'd up for some sort of interview or segment where cameras would be following her.
"I'm going to college," she said, noting she "absolutely" feels strong enough to stay clean.
As for whether or not she'll have joint custody of Leah — who she had with ex Gary Shirley — Portwood said, "That's the goal… That's what's gonna happen."
Portwood obtained her GED while in prison, and exclusively told RadarOnline.com in July, "I’m working my ass off to get out of here!”
It looks like her hard work paid off.
