Deck The Halls! Robin Roberts Trims Her Christmas Tree With GMA Family
Dec. 7 2012, Published 4:00 a.m. ET
Robin Roberts looked in great spirits Friday in a pre-taped segment airing on Good Morning America, during which her colleagues, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion, Josh Elliot, and Lara Spencer visited her at her Manhattan apartment to help trim her Christmas tree, and RadarOnline.com has the video.
An exuberant Roberts -- who’s still recovering from a bone marrow transplant due to a rare blood disorder called Myelodysplastic Syndrome or MDS -- taped the segment Thursday with her beloved colleagues. In the video, we see Robin’s castmates present her with an ornament (with her face on it) made by a viewer. At another point, Robin -- wearing a Santa hat to cover her bald head -- launches into her best ‘Gangnam Style’ dance, and the others joined in -- even George! The GMA team also shared some of Robin’s late mothers favorite Christmas punch and sang Winter Wonderland before a reading of the classic holiday book, The Night Before Christmas.
In one touching moment, Robin, 52, says to her GMA family: “The biggest present is having you in my home. I watch you every morning. I miss you. I’m there with you, and I can’t wait … Come on 2013!”
“Come on! her castmates echoed.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Robin is grateful and had been looking forward to celebrating the holidays with her GMA colleagues.
“Robin is looking forward to seeing her colleagues and celebrating the joy and spirit of the holiday season. Robin has so very much to be grateful for, and she is grateful for all of the well wishes she has gotten from the GMA family and viewers,“ a source close to the situation told us added prior to her castmates visiting her at home.
She’s expected to return to work in the new year.
