After the cops were called to Dina Lohan's Long Island house, after she got into a scuffle with Lindsay after a night of partying in New York City nightclubs, family and friends of the mother-daughter duo want BOTH women to go to rehab, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

"Dina and Lindsay both need to go to rehab to deal with their addictions, and they need to get treatment separately. Dina has been acting like Lindsay's friend and not her mother for a very, very long time. Who goes nightclubbing with their mother until 4:30 in the morning?" a source close to the situation says.

"Lindsay was tape recorded by her father, Michael, in which she said Dina had been doing cocaine that night. Lindsay, as someone who has been in rehab in the past, shouldn't be around anyone doing drugs, let alone be going to nightclubs and partying! Friends of Dina and Lindsay genuinely fear for their safety and well-being. Dina and Lindsay are in absolute denial about their addictions, and are refusing to get the help they so desperately need," the insider adds.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lindsay and her mother had been partying at Electric Room, a club in the Dream Hotel, where Lindsay had previously gotten into an altercation with congressional staffer Christian LaBella, whom Lohan accused of assaulting her. (Labella was arrested but charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence.)

Lindsay and Dina's fight started after they left the club in a car on the way to Dina’s Long Island home. As the argument escalated, the source said Dina broke Lindsay’s diamond bracelet and scratched her leg. Cops were called to the home, but no arrests were made. During the argument, Lindsay told Dina she needed to go to rehab!

During a bizarre recent appearance on the Dr. Phil, Dina, 49, was fidgety and giggling throughout the entire interview, leading to speculation she was under the influence. Mama Lohan later insisted that she wasn't drunk during the interview, just suffering from a bad case of the nerves.

"Dina and Lindsay's relationship is very complicated. It's not a traditional mother/daughter dynamic, and both need to take a break from each other. Lindsay loves her mom, but is very concerned for her well-being," the source says.

Michael Lohan has also urged his ex-wife to check into rehab, sending a message to Dina through RadarOnline.com: “Sober up and learn to stop using our kids as pawns like you just did to Lindsay again after calling out for me after her arrest! Fix YOUR soul!”

The biggest concern is "the fact that Dina just doesn't want to act as her kid's mother, period. Dina wants to be their friend first. Dina and Lindsay have a co-dependent relationship that is bad for both of them. Dina and Lindsay need to spend a significant time apart getting therapy. Dina needs to learn to be a mother to the kids, and not their party pal," the insider tells us.
