Sage Stallone's mother Sasha Czack has broken her silence on her son's death, claiming extensive dental work might have triggered her late son to take too many of the pain pills recovered from his Los Angeles-area house in the wake of his shocking death there at 36 last week.

Czack says Sage, Sylvester Stallone's first son, had five teeth pulled two weeks ago, which led her to warn him to be careful with the procedure.

"I told him not to do that," she told the NY Post. "I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth. Do not have more than one tooth removed."

Asked if she knew Sage was taking pills, she said, "Wouldn't you be?"

A close friend told RadarOnline.com exclusively Sage "seemed great" the last time he'd seen him two weeks ago, adding he was "totally stunned" by the death.

"He was healthy and upbeat and didn't seem depressed at all," the friend said. "I never knew him to do drugs, not even weed, so for him to die from an overdose is kind of shocking to me."

As previously reported, Sage's autopsy was conducted by the the Los Angeles County Coroner Sunday morning; officials there said results won't be in for two months, as toxicology tests traditionally take six weeks to complete.

Sage, an actor, director and screenwriter, was best known for roles alongside his father in 1990's Rocky V and 1996's Daylight.
