He may have kept a low profile during his father’s presidency, but now Pierre Sarkozy is ready for his big moment!
In a new interview and photo shoot with Mr. Porter, the 26-year-old son of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and stepson of model/singer Carla Bruni sheds light on what it was like to be the son of the most powerful man in France and why he kept a somewhat low profile as an international DJ until his father’s political reign was over – and RadarOnline.com has the photos and details.
Pierre, who will be celebrating his 27th birthday in August, has been a DJ and music producer around the world for several years, using the stage name Mosey, but it wasn’t until two weeks ago, after his father stepped down from his presidency, that he performed in Paris for the first time.
“It was so emotional,” he told Derek Blasberg for Mr. Porter. “I was nervous at the beginning because it was my hometown and in front of so many people. But once I started to play it was all pleasure.”

While many celebrity spawn thrive off the success of their parents, Sarkozy wanted to make a name for himself around the world, independent of his famous father.
“When my father was president I didn’t want that to be the big issue. I wanted to prove my value outside of France first. Now I can play in France because I’ve showed people that I’m good at what I do, and not because of who I am.”
A music lover since he was a child, he discovered a passion for hip-hop music when he was a 14-year-old foreign exchange student in Atlanta, bringing the baggy pants trend back to Paris with him and starting a hip-hop band with his friends. This led him to pursue a career of music production and then DJ’ing, which he has been working on for several years.
