Dallas star Leonor Varela, who plays Marta Del Sol in the revamped version of the 80's hit television show, tells RadarOnline.com exclusively that the audience should get ready for exciting plot twists, and more Ewing family drama!
As previously reported, the new version of Dallas, the smash-hit prime-time soap that was as 80s as hair metal, follows a new generation of Ewings, who are even more ruthless than their parents. John Ross Ewing III (Josh Henderson), son of J.R. (Larry Hagman), is determined to drill for oil on family land. Meanwhile, cousin Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe), the adopted son of J.R.'s little brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy), has a secret plan to bring the family into the alternative-energy business. Marta Del Sol (Varela) is plotting with John Ross to reclaim the beloved Southfork ranch from his uncle Bobby.
"I have loved playing Marta Del Sol and working with the entire Dallas cast," the Chilean-born raven haired beauty tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. "I loved the pilot and I'm so proud to be a part of the show. My character so smart and extremely ambitious, and so well written, as is the entire show. Viewers hopefully will enjoy watching our characters explore their complicated relationship. They are both so goal oriented and very complex and they do have a past history together that will be explained during the season."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, producers of the show are hoping to lure Victoria Principal back to reprise the role of the iconic and beloved Pam Ewing, and Leonor says, "I am sure fans would be delighted to see Pam come back to the show."
Even though filming wrapped on Dallas in February, Varela says, "the cast and crew are like family, which is centered around Patrick Duffy, Linda Grey, and Larry Hagman. The three of them have remained friends since the original series went off the air. They are just great examples of true actors, and Linda Grey, look at her, she is stunning! Viewers can expect more plot twists and even more Ewing family drama."
Leonor isn't allowed to give any specifics about shows that haven't aired yet, but spills that on Wednesday's night's episode, "Marta will have to suffer the consequences for double crossing J.R. Ewing."
Dallas airs on TNT on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m.
