Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis went wild Thursday morning on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and RadarOnline.com has learned the police were called and he was handcuffed.
According to an eyewitness, Joe got into an altercation with a brunette mystery girl around 9:30 a.m. over a cell phone and things escalated to the point where the Beverly Hills Police were called.
"Some girl took his cell phone and he wanted it back so he started to hit her," an eyewitness who was walking down the street when they saw the commotion told RadarOnline.com.
"He said to her, 'Give me back my phone you stupid b**ch,' and then he started to throw her around."
The eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com that when police showed up they handcuffed Joe, but not the woman, until the situation was diffused.

"It looks like she hit his Bentley because there were dents on his car," the eyewitness continued.
"It was crazy! We didn't know what to do."
The Beverly Hills Police Department tells RadarOnline.com that no arrests were made.
"Joe wasn't arrested, but right now we're not releasing details. It was a call for service and we responded," a spokesperson for the BHPD told RadarOnline.com.
"He has not been arrested and I can assure you the handcuffs in and of himself do not constitute an arrest."
