Joseph Gordon-Levitt's heart-warming portrayal of a cancer patient in 50/50 has touched millions of movie-goers but one girl who saw the hit film had a special reason to reach out to the star, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Lindsey Miller was so impressed with the performance that she took the plunge and made a daring YouTube video asking the actor out on a date, and RadarOnline.com has the clip.
The 26-year old graduate student from Los Angeles isn't any ordinary fan. Miller was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in 2010, and after bravely battling the deadly disease - asking her Hollywood crush out was a lot less daunting!
"After seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, 'This guy gets it. And he’s cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere,'" Lindsey wrote on the blog she created to chronicle her journey.
"But even though I live in L.A., it seems impossible to find him... Maybe YouTube can help."
While the plucky cancer survivor admitted it was "ridiculous," she pledged, "Life is short, so why not?"
In the kooky date request, Miller tells the actor: "Even though I look healthy, dating has been a little difficult, because I'm not sure how to explain what I've been going through, but after living with it I've decided to get back on the dating scene and I'd like my first date to be with you.

"Maybe you can call it my 'Make-A-Wish' but lets not make it over-dramatic," she jokes.
"Just a cup of coffee with you would make me happy."
In the role that made Miller swoon, Gordon-Levitt played the part of Adam Lerner, a 27-year-old radio producer who finds out he has a massive tumor on his spine.
The touching dark comedy is a semi-autobiographical story written by Will Reiser, who had his own brush with cancer at just 24.
