Cops have released the first frantic 911 call to come in, moments after the massacre at a Seal Beach, Calif. hair salon on Wednesday.
An unidentified caller gave the California Highway Patrol operator -- calls from cell phones in Calif. go to a CHIPS dispatcher -- a description of the shooter as a 300 lb. white man and said he'd calmly walked down the street after leaving the salon.
The rampage at Salon Meritage took the lives of eight people. Another victim is in the hospital, critically injured.
Scott Dekraai, wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying three handguns, was arrested at the scene.
One of the victims, who police believe was the prime target, was Dekraai's ex-wife Michelle Fournier. The two, who'd divorced in 2007, were engaged in an on-going custody battle. They were in court just 24 hours before the shooting.
During his first appearance in before an Orange County Superior Court judge Friday, the prosecutor revealed he'll be seeking the death penalty.
Dekraai postponed entering his plea, and his arrangement was set for November 29.
