A porn actor has tested HIV positive and the industry has reacted by temporarily shutting down adult film production across Los Angeles on Monday, RadarOnline.com can report.
According to adult industry blog MikeSouth.com after a male performer recently tested HIV positive, a dozen actresses who worked with the actor were placed on a quarantine list.
The performer reportedly tested positive in Miami, Florida, a hub for many porn studios.
“The second generation exposures are said to be way high,” South wrote. “The guy is said to have worked for ALL the major studios.”
“Until we know for sure, we’ve asked the industry to have a moratorium on production,” the Executive Director of the Free Speech Coalition Diane Duke said about the situation. She said the group will notify performers who have had sexual contact with the potentially infected person so they can get tested.

“Retesting and confirmation is underway as is the process of identifying and testing first and second generation partners,” the LA Times reported Duke said.
Duke also said that since the test of the HIV positive performer was done out of state, Los Angeles County health officials and state regulators were not initially notified of the situation but that testing will be completed within a week.
