Katie Couric's Father Dead At 90

Katie Couric’s father, John M. Couric, has died at the age of 90, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Couric passed away Wednesday at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington of complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Katie often spoke publicly about her father's illness and mentioned several times over the past few months that he was in failing health.
On Thursday, she tweeted: Thank you to all the kind people expressing their sympathy to my family. The loss is profound and I am grateful for your support.

John Couric, a Georgia native, retired in 1985 as a writer with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Like his famous daughter, the elder Couric was also a journalist, who reported from throughout the South and Washington during the 1940s and 1950s.
Services will be private.
