Contracts were signed late Saturday night to bring Paula Abdul onto the judging panel at Simon Cowell's X Factor.
The reunion of Cowell and Abdul ups the ante considerably on the anticipation factor of X Factor, the talent competition Cowell created in the UK and is launching in the U.S. in September.
Paula left American Idol and struck out on her own with a dance competition, Live to Dance, on CBS. It was a critical and ratings flop. But that didn't stop Cowell from wanting her by his side for X Factor.
