Maria Shriver was at dinner with one of her closest friends – Oprah Winfrey – when she learned her estranged husband was going public with his infidelity and love child, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Shriver was accompanied by her daughters Katherine, 21, and Christina, 19, when she joined Oprah, Stedman Graham, Gayle King and other A-List celebs at Chicago’s RL restaurant. It was intended as a friendly dinner prior to Maria’s appearance on Oprah’s grand finale show.

But all that changed when Maria took a phone call while at the table, an eyewitness tells us.

“Maria had a very animated, very emotional 15 minute phone call,” the source says. “She was very upset and from what she was saying, it was obvious that she was getting some stunning news.

“She left the dinner right after the call.”

Just hours later, the Los Angeles Times published a statement Schwarzenegger had given the paper, confessing to an affair with a household staffer that had resulted in a child, now 10.
