Lady Gaga Is A 'Fashion Icon' -- Will Be Honored By CFDA

Lady Gaga's eccentric sense of style has helped transform her into an international superstar, and now the chart-topping singer is being formally honored for her fashion passion, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The New York Council of Fashion Designers of America announced on Wednesday Gaga will be honored at their annual Fashion Awards with the coveted Fashion Icon Award.

The 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards, which will take place on June 6 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, celebrate the most influential people in fashion.

Gaga will be joining the esteemed ranks of style setters Iman, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman, all past recipients of the Fashion Icon Award.

And she isn’t the only Hollywood star who will be on hand at the swanky style awards show!

Child stars turned fashionistas Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen snagged a nomination for the Swarovski Award for up-and-coming talent in the women’s wear category, where they will be competing against designers Joseph Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung.
