Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi's plan to be dropped in a glass ball above New York’s Times Square has just been crushed by the fun police -- city officials -- who tell RadarOnline.com it would "not be appropriate."

A spokesperson for the Times Square Alliance said they can "guarantee that Snooki will not be in any way associated with the official New Year's Eve Ball."

As late as Monday, the beehive queen was more than excited to be part of the celebration, jokingly telling USA today that the ball drop would turn her into "a friggin' hamster."

Snooki's peeps apparently reached out to event organizers but the request to have her in a separate ball on a set-back roof came too
