If Simon Cowell, David and Victoria Beckham, and Prince William and Kate Middleton are any indicators, America's love affair with all things British continues. Now, for those who wish to incorporate some British flair into their daily lives, a new salon has crossed the pond and found a home on Los Angeles' Melrose Avenue.
Nestled between the famed shopping street's high-end designer boutiques, Essensuals London is set to be the go-to stop for cutting edge hairstyles. As the US counterpart of the famed Tony & Guy London salon, which happens to sponsor London Fashion Week, it blends a cutting edge sensibility with impeccable technical skill.
Besides getting a cut and color, clients can also grab high tea on the rooftop patio and get expert advice at the "Beauty Bar."
On a recent visit to the salon, our hair needs were met by Level I Art Director Phillippe Polo, a dashing Frenchman who gave us a perfect blowout and even trimmed some trouble spots caused by a former haircut from a well-known pricey salon to remain nameless! Phillippe was attentive, warm, and responsive to his client's concerns and needs. Plus, his results speak for themselves: we were getting compliments on our hair all night!
The owner of the salon, Laini Reeves, is already well-known in Hollywood circles with a client list which has included celebrities like Emily Blunt, Michelle Williams, Scarlet Johansson, Heidi Klum, Kate Bosworth, and many others.
Reeves recently styled both Blunt and Bosworth for the Hollywood Style Awards and also got Blunt red carpet read for the recent LA premiere of Gulliver's Travels.
