It's over between Simon Cowell and Terri Seymour and the person most disappointed may be Simon's mom.

"I'm very fond of Terri," said Mrs. Cowell. "I adore her. The split was

really based on the fact that she wanted a baby and to get married."

According to the American Idol judge's mother, Simon has always said

that he didn't want to get married or have a family.

"I said, 'Well you will change your mind'. But I still think he's

adamant that he won't."

However, Simon's mother also said that regardless of her great affection

for the 34 year-old television presenter, she is not upset with her son.

"Simon has a right to his own life, we all do, but Terri wanted a baby

and things didn't work out."

Simon had initially met Terri when the former model was only 18, and

started seeing her 6 years ago after she interviewed him for a show.

Fortunately, the couple seems to have ended on good terms.

According to Mrs. Cowell: "Simon has always said to me that as far as

Terri is concerned he would look after her and I think she knows that."
