Former worldwide sex symbol Cher hates that she's a 70-year-old lady and is calling it quits on her fabulous career because of her aging!

"If I put 70 candles on my cake, I would blow my brains out!" declared the senior citizen pop diva.

The Moonstruck Oscar winner says she's hanging up her vocal cords after her Classic Cher tour, which begins in February, is over.

When she signed on, she knew it would be "my final farewell tour."

"I didn't want to be finished," she explained. "I didn't want to be through with singing and I knew this would probably be the last time."

She decided to take on the gig before aging robbed her of her mobility and voice.

"The older you are, the harder it is," she said. "My voice is still really good. I'm still … active, running around. I can still fit in my costumes.

"So I thought that this is probably — it's now or never."

Cher's career spans back to 1962, when at 16 she dropped out of school and began dancing in clubs.

She hooked up with and wed Sonny Bono and in 1965, their Sonny & Cher tune "I Got You Babe" rocketed to No. 1 on the charts.

Cher later went solo and became an actress. Her willowy figure and fabulous costumes made her a sex symbol, and her hits, like "Take Me Home" and "If I Could Turn Back Time," earned her the title Goddess of Pop.

Shockingly, despite her success, she says, "I've never really been in love with Cher. She's all right, but I'm not a huge fan."

Now, the former pop hottie sadly laments, "I look in the mirror and I see this old lady looking back at me, and I have no idea how she got there."
